Detailed Guidance for Making a Submission
Authorship
- The Journal accepts single-author as well as multiple-author (maximum 2 co-authors) manuscripts.
- All significant contributors should be appropriately acknowledged as authors.
- Manuscripts must clearly state the current academic or professional affiliation of the author(s).
- Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of their research findings. Submissions must not contain misleading or incorrect representations.
- Contact information for the corresponding author: name, institutional address, phone, and email.
Title
Your manuscript's title should be concise, descriptive, unambiguous, and accurate, and reflect the precise contents of the manuscript. A descriptive title that includes the topic of the manuscript makes an article more findable in major indexing services.
Abstract
- All submissions must include an abstract of not more than 300 words describing the manuscript in brief.
- The abstract must concisely reflect the purpose of the research, major findings, and conclusions. Write titles and abstracts with a global, interdisciplinary audience in mind.
- There is no requirement for prior submission of the abstract.
Keywords
- Please include a minimum of 4–5 keywords, listed after the abstract.
- Keywords should be as specific as possible to the research topic.
Structure of the Manuscript
While the structure may vary depending on the nature of the submission, authors are encouraged to ensure:
- A clear introduction stating the research problem and purpose.
- Logical organisation using headings and sub-headings.
- Coherent legal reasoning supported by authoritative sources.
- A concise conclusion summarising key arguments and implications.
- Empirical or socio-legal submissions should clearly indicate methodology and data sources.
Referencing Style
All submissions must be prepared in accordance with the Harvard Bluebook (20th Edition). Non-conformity will be a ground for rejection.
Acknowledgments
If you are including an Acknowledgements section, this will be published at the end of your article. The Acknowledgments section should include all contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship.
Funding Statement (if any)
The author(s) must disclose the name of the funding organization or institution and provide the funding identification number (if applicable) if their study has received financial support.
Declaration
The journal requires a declaration of conflicting interests from all authors so that a statement can be included in your article.
Ethical Consideration
- Ethics Approval: Where applicable, authors must state whether the study received approval from a relevant Ethics Committee or Institutional Review Board, or whether such approval was waived. If ethical approval was not required, this must be clearly stated.
- Consent: For studies involving human participants or identifiable data, authors must confirm that informed consent to participate and, where relevant, consent for publication were obtained. If not applicable, authors should state "Not applicable".
Data Availability Statement
Where the manuscript involves empirical data, authors must include a brief data availability statement indicating how the data may be accessed.
Authors may use one of the following statements, as applicable:
"The data used in this study are available from the author(s) upon reasonable request."
— OR —
"The data are not publicly available due to confidentiality, ethical, or legal restrictions."
For doctrinal or non-empirical research based on statutes, judicial decisions, and secondary legal sources, authors may use the following statement:
"This manuscript is based on doctrinal legal research. No primary data were collected or analysed."
